Magic Orgasm by House Heros is an all-time classic in my book. That was my jam back in the day. I totally owned the CD. I regret I don’t have it anymore.

Having brought this track back to my playlist recently, I knew this had to be used for the next mix. Pondering what potential acapella to use, Opa Gangnam Style quickly came to mind.

Naming the track, I was torn on what to call it for a while. This mix almost got the name Magic Gangnam Style, but since Psy’s track starts with “Opa”, so replacing that with “Orgasm” came more naturally.

I met their BPM’s right smack dab in the middle, at 130, since Psy’s is 132 and Magic Orgasm is 128. To get the right balance, I had to raise House Hero’s track by almost 3 dB and lowered Psy’s acapalla by over 3 dB as you can see in the screenshot.

I kept the track length same as Psy’s original, which is under 4 minutes. But Magic Orgasm is 9:47! That was a challenge to cut up. I almost wanted to let it run much longer, and have some gaps in the acapella. My decision to keep is short was mainly to have respect for your time, since I know you’re very gracious in sharing it with me. Thank you for listening.

This tack took a bit of time to mash up. I’m estimating about six hours including the first variation. Initially, I didn’t cut up the track enough, so it took too much time to build up the acapella. It felt like it dragged on. With this final version, virtually every 4 bars of the first verse and hook had a shortened cut of the beat. In the end, I had to shave off literally six minutes! It was a fun challenge to keep all the various movements in the House Hero’s dance track. I didn’t want to sacrifice any of those cool parts while still keeping the beat under 4 minutes.

Another tricky thing to do was to keep the track on beat, since Psy has an odd extension on his bridge to the chorus, it adds a half-measure more to account for. Finessing that was fun too!

Fun Fact: Opa Gangnam Style was the first ever video on YouTube to reach a billion views. Google had to quickly reprogram their site to allow for this number on the video view counter. In 2015, because of the world wide popularity of the Psy’s song, South Korea made a special tribute statue depicting the mega-stars hands and arms doing his classic horse ride pose. It’s made out of bronze and stands about 15 feet high. The artwork cost 418 million won, which was roughly $360,000 US. Also, I like kimchi soup with Spam! Major yum yum style!

In order to make this mix, I had to use the following software tools:

1. My HP laptop running Windows 11.
2. Nero Downloader Ultimate to convert a YouTube track to MP3.
3. Acapellas4u to snag the acapella.
4. Magix ACID 11 to arrange, Beatmap and mix all the audio files.
